Skydiving in Moncton / Le saut en parachute

As I was driving to Moncton last night, I saw a larger than usual plane siting on the tarmac of the McEwan Arifield. I pulled the car in the parking and saw a group of people boarding. It was a nice experience, even for someone on the ground.
Hier soir, en direction de Moncton, j’ai apperçu un avion un peu plus gros qu’à la normalle sur la piste du McEwan Airfield. En stationnant la voiture, j’ai apperçu un group de personne fesant l’embarquement. Ce fut un saut très intéressant, même pour quelqu’un au sol.

Carson’s Flea Market, Moncton

A Sunday visit to the flea market. Always interesting and visually stimulating for a graphic designer - or anybody fascinated by the products and history of mass consumption in general. Also good for bargain hunters.

Une visite du dimanche à un des marchés aux puces de Moncton. Toujours intéressant et stimulant pour un graphiste ou toute autre personne qui s’intéresse à l’histoire de notre culture de consommation de masse. Sans oublier les aubaines.

Happy Earth Day!

This photo was taken last weekend by the Petitcodiac River causeway. Who would have thought one day we’d be able to walk across the river over a few meters?  When you have blocked arteries, you get sick or worst. Same goes for a river system. The causeway, built in the 60’s, has made this River one of the most endangered river in Canada. Pretty sad.

Bon Jour de la Terre!

Cette photo, prise la fin de semaine dernière, démontre l’état précaire de la rivière. Qui aurait dit un jour pouvoir la traverser à pied sur quelques mètres? Quand on a les artères fermées, on perd la santé ou pire. Depuis la construction dans les années 60 du pont-chausée, d’où j’ai pris cette photo, la rivière à perdu santé. Elle est maintenant parmi les rivières les plus menaçées au Canada. Assez désolant.

Earth Day Week, Rivière Petitcodiac River, Moncton, 1 of 7

Today, I’m starting a week-long theme about the Petitcodiac River, right here in Moncton. Earlier today, I took my mountain bike in town and rode along the shore of this unique river. I can’t believe how much the river has changed in the last few years. I managed to see a lot of wildlife but more garbage than I would have like to see. If you care about this river as much as I do, a good way to help is by supporting the Petitcodiac Riverkeeper. 

Aujourd’hui, j’amorce une semaine où mon blogue aura comme sujet la rivière Petitcodiac qui coule près du centre-ville de Moncton. Plus tôt en ce magnifique samedi, j’ai emporté mon vélo tout-terrain sur les rives de cette unique rivière. J’ai peine à croire comment elle a changée au cours des dernière années. J’ai apperçu beaucoup de flore et de faune le long de mon trajet mais aussi beaucoup de déchets. Si vous prenez à coeur la sauvegarde de ce cours d’eau autant que moi, je vous encourage à offrir votre support à Sentinelles Petitcodiac.

Maple Sugar Camp / Visite à la sucrerie

This morning, we went to a maple sugar operation in Sainte-Marie-de-Kent with some friends of ours. The maple sap was barely flowing, due to the cold weather still around, I took a few snapshots of the operation.
Ce matin, nous sommes allés faire un tour à la sucrerie à Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, avec des amis. Les érables coulaient à peine, étant donné la températue un peu trop froide, j’en ai profité pour prendre quelques photos...

Emergency - Urgence

Yersterday, I slammed my right index finger in the door of the car, OUCH!, I was able to deal with the pain until last night. I went in the Emergency at 9 pm and walked out, still had my 10 fingers, at around 3 am. Since it’s not illegal to take pictures in a hospital, I figured I would make some type of photo essay.

Hier, j’ai fermé la portière de ma voiture sur mon index de la main droite, AYOYE ! La douleur fut supportable jusqu’en soirée alors j’ai visité une salle d’urgence. Je suis entré vers 21 h et j’en suis sorti vers 3 h du matin, avec mes dix doigts heureusement. Comme c’est pas encore interdit de prendre des photos dans les hopitaux, j’ai pensé faire un peu de photo-journalisme.
